Day 1 Jun.23/Aug.24 USA – Shanghai

We start our vacation by boarding an international flight bound for Shanghai, the financial capital of China and dynamic city of great splendor. Meals and snacks will be served on the plane.

Day 2 Jun.24/Aug.25 Shanghai MU 586

Arrive at Shanghai Pudong Int’l Airport at around 6:30PM. .A tour guide will greet you and escort you to hotel. Free at leisure.

Morning free. Take an afternoon flight to Guilin, a city long renowned for its unique scenery. Guilin is a historical and cultural city, as well as a tourist wonderland of world fame. Arrive Guilin. Transfer to Hotel. Free at leisure.

Day 4 Jun 26/ Aug27 Guilin – Yangshuo – Guilin (AB, L, D)

In the morning we will have a boat ride along the Li River with lunch onboard. The 40-mile journey to Yangshuo glides through a landscape filled with the natural beauty of mist shrouded crags and bamboo groves. This unique landscape has inspired painter and poets for many centuries. Afternoon free. Transfer back to Guilin. In the evening we will enjoy a Minority Culture Show. Check into hotel after dinner.

Day5 Jun27/Aug28 Guilin –Kunming CZ3247 16:10/17:30 (AB, L, D)

In the morning we will visit the Reed Flute Cave and enjoy a picturesque view of the city and countryside. In the afternoon we take a flight to Kunming. Because of its year-round blossoms and climate, Kunming is called the “City of Eternal Spring.” Check into Hotel Kunming Bank Hotel.

Day 6 Jun 28/ Aug 29 Kunming –Dali CZ 3481 10:35/11:10 (AB,L,D)

Breakfast in hotel. In the morning we fly to Dali. Renowned as the oriental Geneva, Dali is also home to the Bai Minority. In the afternoon we take a cruise on the Erhai Lake. Because it has the shape of an ear, it earns the name Erhai (Ear) Lake. The lake is reputed to be “the pearl on the plateau” for its beautiful scenery. We will also enjoy a three course tea performance by the Bai people.
Check into Royal Hotel.

Day 7 Jun 29/ Aug 30 Dali – (AB, L, D)

In the morning we visit the Three Pagodas of Saintly Worship, outstanding landmarks of the region. Three Pagodas are located northwest of Dali at the foot Cangshan Mountains and were completed in 876 during the Tang dynasty (618-907AD). In the afternoon we will take the Gantong Cable Lift on Cangshan Mountain to visit Gantong Temple.
After dinner, back to hotel

Day 8 Jun.30 /Aug.31 Dali (AB, L)

In the morning we visit the famous 'Butterfly spring,' so called because in the short time that spring turns into summer, its fragrant blossom attracts thousands of butterflies. From here we will go to visit Xizhou residence, home to the Bai minority and famous for unique patterns and a building style which demonstrates Chinese esthetic characteristics. Here we will see the Bai’s typical traditions and clothing. Afternoon free.

Day 9 July 1/ Sep.01 Dali—Lijiang

In the morning we transfer from Dali to Lijinng where we explore the incredible 800-year-old Dayan Ancient Town and the Mu Mansion, the residence of the Mu Clan, the former ruling family of Lijiang. These visits provide a fascinating insight into the local culture and traditions of Lijiang. In the afternoon we visit the Black Dragon Pool, a well-known scenic attraction with ancient temples, and pools and one of the most beautiful parks in all of Lijiang. In the evening we will stroll along Sifangjie Square.

Day 10 July 2/ September 2 Lijiang (B, L, D)

The highlight today is a visit to the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain scenic region and a walk in Yak Meadows, the highest mountain on the southern bank of the Yangtze River. It is considered a holy site and the soul of the Naxi people. We will take a cable car for a panoramic view of Lijiang City. In the afternoon we visit the Baishui Tableland (White Water Terraces) and Yuhu Village. This is a simple village of Naxi minority and the former residence of Dr. Joseph Rock. Dr. Rock, an Austro-American botanist and explorer lived here off and on from 1922-1949. He is best remembered for the introduction of innumerable plant species to the West and his rigorous works on Naxi ethnology. We will enjoy an Impression Lijiang Performance.

Day 11 Jul 03/ Sep 03 Lijiang ---Kunming MU5803 10:10-11:00 (AB,L,D )

In the morning we fly to Kunming. Upon arrival we will transfer to the Stone Forest National Geo-Park, known as “the most fantastic scenery under heaven.” Stone Forest, a UNESCO World Nature Heritage site, has 80 hectares of karst limestone pillars eroded into fantastic and fanciful shapes. In the afternoon we visit Colorful Yunan, a minority-style landscape garden with a large exhibition center devoted to ethnic minority souvenirs.
Transfer to hotel.
